On April 22nd everyone will come together on this very special day in honor of protecting our environment. This doesn’t mean we shouldn’t be working together to protect our big, beautiful planet all year long. This just means that earth has its very own holiday and in honor of this celebration we have fun, cool and creative ideas for students to celebrate Earth Day at their school.
Host a fashion show in your school’s gymnasium or auditorium. You could have all models wear eco-friendly clothing, accessories, and shoes as they rip the runway.
Pick a location and plant a tree to help purify the air and reduce climate change.
Have your school’s cafeteria serve a meatless lunch on Earth Day which can help lower greenhouse gas emissions.
Participate in arts and crafts activities by drawing planet earth using recycled materials.
Visit a local park or beach and pick up any trash you see. You can also pick up any items that need to be recycled and recycle them. This helps keep our beautiful beaches and parks clean.
Be sure to turn off all lights that are not currently being used throughout the entire school. Encourage everyone to tightly turn off faucets after they’re done washing their hands in all restrooms.
Visit a nearby park, take a stroll and observe the insects and animals in their natural habitats.
At GotSneakers, our sneaker drive fundraiser is simple and the benefits extend far beyond your doorstep. Our mission is to partner with the sneaker community to recycle and reuse quality pre-loved sneakers. Our sneaker drive fundraiser keeps sneakers out of landfills and reduces toxic chemicals from being released in our air and soil. All reusable sneakers from our sneaker drive fundraiser program are recirculated to secondhand markets so people can access quality, pre-owned footwear at affordable prices. All heavily used and damaged footwear is recycled to reuse materials or to convert waste into new energy.
Most people throw away their used sneakers every 125-200 days without ever thinking about recycling. Since sneakers are manufactured with materials that are not biodegradable, they remain in landfills or are incinerated, which leads to toxic chemicals in our air and soil.
The process of manufacturing sneakers produces large amounts of CO2 which contribute to the serious effects of climate change and global warming. Request your FREE Fundraiser Kit today.
